I flew into Hawker for Wilpena Under the Stars on the weekend. All I can say is "WHAT AN EVENT" That was a definate bucket list trip, it was awesome

Awesome! Any plans to write an article on it? How did you get from Hawker to Wilpena? It's on my list of things to do, maybe I'll try for next year. Cheers, Brett

RFDS organise buses from Hawker to Wilpena and return.

If I get my s**t together I should write an article on it.

There was only one other aircraft at Hawker for the event and the next day while returning to YBHI I only heard one other aircraft depart a CTAF close to the area. Sad

I had six pax with me and they all enjoyed the night, with a few that may return for next year.

Hi 3d I assume the wilpena strip was too short for you? I thought about was thinking its a very hot time of year. Did you get lucky with the weather? Cheers eric

Eric Unsure of the strip length at Wilpena. There was no accomodation at Wilpena so had to go into Hawker. If there was nowhere to stay that night I was going to fly back to YBHI after the event. Yes it was a bit warm but Hawker is long enough at about 800 metres, other wise the weather was fantastic with a few TS to dodge and a bit of IF getting back into YSCB. Regards
